Born and brought up in a traditional household, young Shyam* lives with his parents and five other siblings in Gopalganj, Bangladesh. His father drives a van and his mother works as a maid in several of the village houses. Without any land of their own, the family rents a house in a village called Bedgram.

Though Shyam’s parents work, the income for the month is barely enough to fully sustain them.

Shyam is a small kid with big dreams. He has the will to go to school and learn how to read and write. But the finances of his family paint a different picture. This reality made him wonder if such a place even existed – a place to study and get a decent meal, a place to make new friends and learn from one another.

In due time Shyam saw the seemingly impossible come alive through the Hand of Hope Feeding Center that now supports him with a proper education and a healthy meal including ‘meat and rice’ – his favorite food. When he isn’t studying, Shyam loves to draw and play football with the other kids at the center. He desires to fully complete his education and get a good job so he can do his part to support his family.

This child is blessed beyond measure, a real transformation that only the love of God – through your partnership – can accomplish. To bless other children by partnering with Hand of Hope, click here to find out more!
