The Hand of Hope Children’s Home was blessed in the recent past with two wonderful kids to their family. This home is fully dedicated to caring for children, many of who have run out of options in their young lives.
It all began at the Hand of Hope Shad Nagar medical camp, when the medical team approached a young mother to find out if they could use the area near her house to store some of their medicines before distribution. She willingly agreed. While moving the boxes of medicine the team noticed a picture of a young man on the wall. The picture frame was adorned with flowers; customary in India to commemorate the deceased. It was her husband, who passed away of a heart attack a few years prior.
Shortly after the passing of her husband the woman was heavily beaten and abused by her in laws leaving her bruised and deep in depression. Her only reason for carrying on was her two daughters, named Hema* and Simi*, for whom she toiled everyday as a factory worker. Her only plea was for her daughters to have better lives.
The medical team duly informed her about the Hand of Hope Children’s Home and the parental love and affection showered upon each child in the home. Without delay, she agreed to send her children to the home, to give them a better life. It grieved her heart to let her kids go, as much it did them, but she knew that they were in good hands.
At the home, Hema and Simi have experienced true love and a real family, something they have always wanted. The girls first went through many long nights in tears, but today they stand strong and joyful. They attend a private school were they both study in English and are among the class toppers. They also enjoy painting, singing and praying with all their new friends at the home.
