Ankireddy is a historic city in the southern region of India. When Hand of Hope's Medical Missions team arrived on the scene, there was an astounding response from people of all ages – a clear indication from the people of Ankireddy that medical care was long in need.
The Hand of Hope team of doctors, dentists and optometrists catered to the needs of everyone who attended. Most in the area had a few ongoing problems with their source of drinking water which caused several cases of infection and water-borne diseases. At the medical camp, they were treated, advised and given the right medication for free.
Besides the few people who had general health issues like fever and joint pain, there were several dental cases, which the dental team was able to treat. Those with eye problems were given reading tests, their results were recorded and within two weeks, free spectacles would be distributed to them. One of these patients was an elderly woman whose eyes were covered in cataracts. Hand of Hope's doctors guided her to undertake the right treatment at a hospital nearby – advice that she appeared grateful to receive and sure to follow.
Each one who arrived at the Hand of Hope medical camp was given a free copy of Joyce's booklet to read and experience the Gospel in a more personal way. By the time the team had wrapped up for the day, they were thanked heartily by the people of Ankireddy and the local pastors for the wonderful foundation provided to spread the Word of God through the healing touch of Hand of Hope's Medical Missions.
