Pindarkom never had a proper supply of water, and the little that did flow through the pipelines was not fit for consumption. The quantity moreover, was insufficient for all the households in town.
The natural sources of drinking water were considered unsafe after people began to fall ill. This brought about another problem. To get medical assistance, a family would have to walk 17km, either tiring out entirely or staying away from work, which would cost them a day's wages.
In tough times like this, the local pastor, Paul, and the few believers in the town would gather and pray in faith that one day the Lord would provide.
On an April morning, the town's miracle arrived. Hand of Hope, the humanitarian wing of Joyce Meyer Ministries planted the town's first ever fresh water bore well system. Alongside it, a brand new church was also constructed, giving the people a central place of worship. The Well of Life bore well and church building project blessed the town of Pindarkom with the answer to their prayers.
It was indeed a beautiful sight as eager children waited patiently at the dedication ceremony hoping to taste fresh cool water. Pindarkom has truly been blessed by the well and the church. They are thankful to God for hearing their prayers and they express their heartfelt gratitude to Hand of Hope for their love, help and support.
