India, a land of emotions, sentiments and tradition… India’s extraordinary history is intimately tied to its geography. A meeting ground between the East and the West, it has always been an invaders paradise, while at the same time its natural isolation and magnetic regions allowed it to adapt to and absorb many of the people who penetrated through it. The local dynasties built upon the roots of a culture well established themselves since the time of the first invaders, the Aryans. In short, India has always been simply too big, too complicated, and too culturally subtle to let any one empire dominate it for long.

Today, India is still on the verge of rising up to the level of the nation that God in the Bible wants us to be… Following the rich traditional background coupled with sentiments, this nation, the land can be the best land that could glorify God and always be a dominion over all… India’s character has always been the asset that she could proudly stand up and boast about… The nation needs more of Jesus and its you who needs to be the one to take Jesus to the uttermost parts of India, this is the challenge… Will you be the one??? Will you answer the call?

Seriously seek the face of God in prayer, the word of God says, “If my people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require necessity of My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).” Without prayer, the hand of God stops. But with prayer, the hand of God moves.

Now more than ever we need to pray for our nation. The recent events of political vengeance, terrorism and many drastic alignments have dramatically altered our atmosphere, turning many Indians to God in prayer. In the midst of all this chaos, a window of opportunity has opened. If each one of us will pray, God will give us direction. He will guide and show us what we need to do and give us the strength to do it. We are called to serve, put aside all your other things, and let your motto be “towels not titles”…and Life’s failures are God’s opportunities… think about it!!!

Here are some specific things outlined in Scripture that we can pray for:

• Pray for Those in Authority: Ask the Lord to give godly wisdom, protection, and direction to the president, the state and local officials, as well as all who serve in authority (see 1 Timothy 2:1-3; Ezra 6:10; Romans 13:1-5).
  
• Pray for Revival: Pray that the Lord will ignite a fire in the hearts of believers and people from all walks of life (see Habakkuk 3:2; Psalm 85; Hosea 6:1-3).
  
• Pray for the Restoration of Families: Pray that men and women would take their rightful, God-appointed place in the home (see Luke 1:17; Ephesians 5:21-30; 6:1).
  
• Pray for the Economy, and Educational System: Let the Lord lead you as you intercede on behalf of these and other vital aspects of our society.

Restoration to our nation will come by the hand of God and God alone, but He will use people to bring about His purpose. Every person has a part, and if we will pray, God will show us what to do.

Take the challenge! Get informed and get involved. Be willing to do what God tells you to do, fulfilling your responsibility as a Christian and as a citizen of India.

No matter what your plans are today, set aside some time to humbly pray for our nation. Remember, the earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working] (James 5:16).

With knowledge of the truth and the power of prayer, the body of Christ can become an instrument of healing, reversing the current situation and bringing about revival!
