There are an approximate 300 families living in the small village of Pumork in Laos. Ethnic diversity and poverty characterize Pumork village and spirit worship makes up the religious identity of the people.
High atop a mountain is the home of a 12 year old girl named Aelan. Every time the family needs to travel to the nearest town or go to school, long and difficult journey is required.
Aelan's family is very poor and her parents work hard so Aelan can finish primary school. But the expenses still proved too much for Aelan's parents to handle so when they heard about the Hand of Hope Children's Home, they were thrilled and sought to enquire about whether Aelan could live there so she can continue her studies.
At the Hand of Hope Children's Home, Aelan enjoys doing her homework, studying and helping the other children do their best in school. She also helps the worship team on Sunday morning services as well as taking care of church activities such as games, singing and dancing. In the future, she wants to become a nurse and help people in need, especially those in poverty.
The Hand of Hope Children's Home has helped Aelan dream of a better future and has made it possible to achieve the goals in her young life. If you would like to help Hand of Hope transform the lives of children like Aelan, click here to partner with us!
