In early April the tribal people of Mae Chan district in Chiang Rai, Thailand welcomed the Hand of Hope medical team who arrived to deliver long-awaited treatment, medicine – and hope.
The Hand of Hope team was bursting with excitement to serve the people of Mae Chan. The medical team – consisting of doctors, dentists, nurses, local volunteers and interpreters – worked with Overbrook Hospital, a local medical facility, to treat the men, women and children who were eager to receive medical guidance and dental care.
After a thorough doctor’s visit, local volunteers counseled each patient individually. Many elderly women were moved to tears as the young team of counselors spoke encouraging words to them; men were brought to their knees at the inspirational stories of patients treated before them; and the little children delighted in the hugs and smiles of the doctors who checked them to ensure their health was in optimum condition.
The Hand of Hope outreach provided much needed medical care to people in need. But the real gift was the hope instilled in the hearts of every person in Mae Chan who attended this loving outreach - all made possible by your generous support!
