We had the opportunity to lead worship during the summit which was also a fulfillment of their mission in singing over the nations.  The worship time was passionate and moving. Times of weeping, times of rejoicing, times of declaring freedom over the nations, times of intercession, times of speaking over the nations to be open for the gospel were part of the summit.  Songs like “We speak to nations, Be Open”, “Tear down the idols”, “You said” really encouraged us to pray for God to move in these nations.

We also took two sessions during the summit. Rufus taught on “The Power of Worship in the nations.” We had some leaders from China who were never exposed to vibrant worship. They shared that they never have the freedom to worship openly and it was moving to know that they don’t even have instruments to play during worship.

The conclusion of the summit was a powerful one where every delegate ministered to one another by washing each others feet. It was a truly humbling experience to all of us on the band.

It was also a good time to network with leaders from different nations and build relationships. We are also looking for opportunities to minister in different nations. We believe that God will open doors for us.

Nagpur:

After having an incredible time in Thailand at the 10/40 Window Conference, Sounds of the Nations had to take on Nagpur, a place with some awesome greenery all around the city and a place where you’ll find the zero point (center) of India. It lies in central India with Zero mile marker, (indicating the geographical center of India).

It was an honor to play at the Hislop College which was founded in 1883.The College was celebrating 125 years of excellence in academics. Indeed, it is one of the oldest educational institutes of India.

We reached Nagpur early in the morning and had stopover at the college and categorize few things for the concert scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. Mr. Prashant and a few others were associated with the Hislop College in Nagpur, who made us feel good in all aspects from transport-to-food and accommodation. They were kind enough and ready to help us with the preparations and arrangements needed for the concert. Few issues the band and our sound guy had to handle, but nothing hindered us from giving our best for the Lord.

We managed to flick through the technical and power issues quickly and finished a quick sound check and took over the stage by 7:30pm.

There was a local band from Nagpur called LPG (LETS PRAISE GOD) who kick started the show, played their hearts out, leading the people into a time of praise and worship and pulled few more people in, before ‘Sounds Of The Nations’ took off… The crowd couldn’t wait to come right in the front and enjoy the music with a blend of ethnic/ cultural stuff.

The crowd consisted of youngsters but also elders who were lecturers in the college. As always Ps. Rufus began to share about how God loves us and nothing can ever separate us from the love of Christ. He then gave a call for people to accept God into their hearts. About 15 people came forward.

There was one person named Moses, who was weeping.  Later he came behind the stage and with tears in his eyes said that he was about to end his life that day. We laid hands on him and prayed that God would save him and encouraged him to stand for God.

Next day was Sunday and we were invited to lead worship in 1840 church (Yes it is called as 1840 church) which is part of Church of North India. It was built in 1840. We led worship and Ps. Rufus preached from Psalm 95. He shared the three calls that are present in the Psalm. The call to rejoice, the call to reverence and the call to respond.

In the evening we again did a workshop for people involved in worship. Rufus again shared on becoming true worshippers.

It was a very successful trip and we give all glory to God.
