An Overflowing Cup

John,* like his family, is young. He lives in a small one room house near the end of Greams Road in Chennai (formerly Madras). His father Reuben* drives an auto for a living, while his mother Grace* stays at home.

Francis*, John’s elder brother, studies in school and at 18 years of age, he is four years older than John. Reuben doesn’t earn enough money to support his family and this has taken its toll on Francis who contemplated abandoning his final year examinations to begin working to support his family with an additional income.

Grace however, had other concerns on her mind; healthy meals for her children, a necessity that was becoming scarcer as the fall season rolled in.

Reuben heard about a program run by Joyce Meyer Ministries to feed children nutritious meals every day. What a wonderful gift, thought Reuben.

John enjoys all that is offered by the Hand of Hope feeding program. He eats a healthy meal every day, plays with new friends, and listens in awe at all of their miraculous stories of God’s love. He is happy to forget the days when he used to imagine a different life for himself. Now, he feels astonished at God’s unending care overflowing in his young life.

His faith in the Lord has grown stronger and he enjoys living as a witness to the amazing things God’s love can achieve. John thanks Joyce Meyer Ministries’ Hand of Hope for bringing him this awesome truth.
