Sports Day at Chaingrai

Thrice a year, at the end of every school semester, children from the church and all four Children's Homes in Chiangrai, Thailand, are gathered together for the much-awaited Sports Day. Before the event, the kids are encouraged to invite

their friends to join with them in the activities. This time, more than 200 kids showed up. Around 50 of them were from non-Christian families.

The program started at 8 am with singing and devotions during which the pastor briefly shared from the Word of God. This time was also used by the youth to witness to their friends. Some non-Christian children were also invited to go to church or join the Feeding Center.

Around 9.30 am the kids were divided into four teams and asked to compete in different sports to find out the final winners. They participated in competitionssuch as table-tennis, football, volleyball, badminton, racing and traditional Thai Sepak-Takrow. This was followed by lunch and fellowship.

Through the sports day activities, the team leaders were able to get through to several kids and young people who accepted Jesus and have now started coming to church. At the end of the day, trophies and rewards were given to the winners of each sport.

Indo-China Bible Training Center

It’s time now for action!

All 25 Bible school students of the Indo-China Bible Training Center are ready to go out into the field and plant churches.
Four students from Laos have expressed their desire to go back to their own country. Two of them will be working along with their pastors in their home churches while the other two students have planned on evangelizing in the new villages.

One student from Myanmar has planned on going back to his own country and evangelize in new communities.  The other Thai students have decided to evangelize among their own tribal communities.

The students have come back after a two-week Christmas and New Year break to continue and complete their two-year course. Their training will continue till mid-March after which they will be sent to their respective churches to minister there. For the next semester we’ll be able to receive more students because of the new facilities.
