You Saved My Child
Every morning, Pinky* watches her father – the only working member of the family – pick up an old bag of scented oils and walk along the roadside past their hut to sell the small bottles clinking inside for a few coins. This is the only money the family earns and it is not enough to feed Pinky.
Pinky has only one pair of clothing and does not eat because there is not enough money. Not knowing what to do, her parents give their share to Pinky so she can sleep at night with a satisfied stomach. There didn’t seem to be a way out of this and Pinky’s father and mother were worried.
One of the villagers stopped his bicycle near Pinky’s hut one day and called her father outside. He told Pinky’s father about the Hand of Hope Feeding Center and that many village children attend for no cost at all. Pinky’s father told his daughter that evening that he was taking her somewhere special the next day… Pinky couldn’t wait!
At the Feeding Center, Pinky ate a healthy meal and met lots of children her age with whom she played interesting and educational games. She couldn’t wait to come back the next day to see them again. When she returned, her day started with a delicious and nutritious meal followed by class-time where the children were taught to read and write. She was thrilled when her father told her she would be coming here everyday.
Pinky never skips her time at the Feeding Center and eagerly waits for the evening so she can eat a good meal, study and play with her new friends.
Her mother and father thank you for supporting Hand of Hope. With regular nutrition and daily classes, Pinky can study better in school and get a good job once she is done with her studies. You have truly changed Pinky’s life!
