A Curer Cured
Mailavaram is a 55 year old father of four daughters and two sons. He lives in rural Andhra Pradesh and does not own a house or land for cultivation. He earns his living as the village doctor and stays in a rented house. He has no formal skills in medicine, but offers traditional remedies to ailments.
In February 2010 Mailavaram injured his leg on a thorn while travelling to see a patient. This injury seemed minor to him and he treated it himself. For ten days he sought no help, but the injury progressed into cellulites and a senior doctor in the village advised an amputation. But in this moment, Mailvaram’s sister recommended that he visit a hospital she had previously visited. He listened to this advice and travelled 50 kilometers to our Hand of Hope Hospital in Chandrakal.
In February, Mailavaram was admitted in a distressed condition. He was running a high temerature and was suffering swelling on his right leg and multiple large ulcers. He stayed in Chandrakal Hospital for nearly two months. He received antibiotics and daily sterile dressings. By God’s grace his fever, swelling of his leg, and the ulcers have all healed completely.
Since his recovery he has been an advocate in his village for healing, faith and the genuine care of the Hand of Hope Hospital. Without the care he received, he may have been left with only a single leg, unable to continue a profession that required him to travel around his village. He may have struggled to care for his six children. Thank God he has been touched and his wounds have healed!
Each day, thousand are being benefitted through the outreach of Hand of Hope all over across Asia. Dear partners and friends, this outreach wouldn’t have been made possible without your support. Thank you very much for investing into the Kingdom.
