The Hand of Hope medical mobile laboratory – a bus – made its way to Bolaram for another life-saving medical mission. Bolaram is a township on the outskirts of Secunderabad. This town has a majority of rural folk and with a 10% literacy rate among the people; the team had a good opportunity to raise awareness in the areas of health and hygiene.

When the Hand of Hope medical team arrived on site they got straight to work setting up their makeshift clinic and equipment. Soon they met up with the local pastor and after a time of prayer, they began to attend to the many patients who arrived in need of medical care.

There were many common diseases and seasonal illnesses in the camp which were all treated for free. Those who had difficulties with their eyesight were checked and these patients were overjoyed at the news that spectacles would be delivered to them soon! Troublesome teeth (cavities, loose teeth) can be a painful ordeal, but the Hand of Hope dentist was at hand to attend to fillings, extractions and just about anything else 'tooth-related' that patients needed relief from!

But the most important part of this camp was the individual guidance and advice provided by the doctors. It was this opportunity that gave them the chance to build relationships with the people of Bolaram. Each patient was given a copy of Joyce Meyer's booklets to encourage them in maintaining a positive attitude in the midst of difficulties.
