Children's Homes

Mae Salong Nai is a small village located deep inside the mountains of Mea Fah Luang, Thailand. Of the few inhabitants, most are workers from the hill tribe of Akka. The people are mostly engaged in farming and crop cultivation in vegetables and grains. But the real aroma that arises from these mountains emerges from the rich tea plantations.

The village is high up in the mountains containing all the needed resources, like a constant power supply and natural resources to provide their full water supply. However without a proper occupation, the hill life can be very difficult. This was the problem that eleven year old Emy* and his family faced. Emy's father is a builder and his mother works as a farmer at the tea plantation. But they have no land of their own to grow their crops or carry out any other form of livelihood.

With a miniscule daily wage salary and three children to care for, small issues started to develop into crises, especially in trying to provide food. From missing a few meals to malnutrition, Emy had been through it all and knew the feeling of deprivation. But throughout their time of need, the family kept the faith and soon learned about the Hand of Hope feeding program established near the village.

Emy has been a part of the center for three years now and life has never been the same for him. At the Hand of Hope feeding center he can do the things he loves like play football with his friends and sing to his heart's content. He is provided nutritious meals everyday and learns about Jesus. Everything is falling into place for young Emmy, who now desires a future in which he can in turn help others in need.

Your partnership with Hand of Hope rescues children like Emy from hunger and gives them a wholesome childhood from which they can begin promising young lives. Click here to partner with Hand of Hope.
